Ghislaine Maxwell Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison
Yesterday, Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced for her role in the Jeffrey Epstein case.. Maxwell was ordered to 20 years in federal prison and spoke in court to the victims shortly before the sentence was announced. Maxwell said “Jeffrey Epstein should have been here before all of you, it is not about Epstein, Ultimately. It is for me to be sentenced.” Maxwell also acknowledged that she had been convicted in the sex trafficking scheme but stopped short of taking responsibility. Prosecutors were seeking a sentence of 30 to 55 years while the probation department recommended 20 years, Maxwell’s attorneys were seeking a sentence of 4.25 to 5.25 years.
