House Select Committee Adds Unexpected Capitol Riots Hearing Today

The House Select Committee investigating the Capitol Riots added an unexpected public hearing today that will begin at the top of the hour. Cassidy Hutchinson, an aide to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and witness to many events and conversations is expected to testify publicly. But the committee hasn’t revealed the official witness list or the topic of the hearing. Hutchinson has already been interviewed by the committee behind closed doors and video clips from her deposition have been featured in earlier court hearings. The announcement of this hearing came as a surprise as the committee had not planned to resume hearings until mid-July.
