Lyft Agrees to Pay $25 Million to it’s Shareholders Over Safety Allegations

Lyft has reached a $25 million settlement with it’s shareholders. The agreement is over allegations that it failed to adequately disclose threats to its reputation and business ahead of going public and not disclosing the ‘existential risk’ presented by reports of drivers assaulting passengers on the platform as well as safety issues concerning its bike-share business. The settlement is pending approval by a judge and money paid will go to shareholders, not directly to the individuals that were victims and reported the incidents.
