- If you start feeling flu like symptoms. Some severe burns can be accompanied by a high fever, a headache, and chills.
- If you see extensive blistering or swelling that covers are large area of your body.
According to Johns Hopkins, pain from sunburns is usually at its worst point for up to two days after the burn takes place. Be alert if your pain lasts longer than that 48 hours.
