What is Your Comfort Food?

Most often it's something we associate with happy times from our childhood like grandma's fried chicken or cotton candy from the fair!

We have all turned to food for comfort, whether we realize it or not.  Think about the last thing you picked up when you were feeling lonely or stressed.  You likely chose that food for its comfort associations or nostalgia.  Comfort foods are not necessarily healthy. The comfort part comes from the dopamine it releases in our brains that makes us temporarily feel happier.  Most often it’s something we associate with happy times like grandma’s fried chicken or her cookies and pies.  It could be a food or snack that reminds you of happy times.   Audra’s comfort foods are chicken casserole and cotton candy.  Greg’s comfort food is meatloaf.
