Testimonies Begin in Gun Violence Hearing
A hearing is underway on Capitol Hill. During which, a House committee will hear testimonies on gun violence including one from Mia Cerrillo a fourth-grade student who spoke earlier about surviving the shooting in Uvalde Texas. The hearing will provide a high-profile platform for the student and others impacted by gun violence to tell their stories to the public and will also feature testimony from Felix and Kimberly Rubio, the parents of one of the victims at the Texas elementary school and Zeneta Everhart, the mother of a victim who was wounded in the recent mass shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York. A group of Senators are in talks to see if they can find common ground on some type of legislation in response to the tragedy.
