Matthew McConaughey Makes Emotional Plea to Lawmakers

Actor Matthew McConaughey spoke during a press briefing at the White House yesterday and urged for more action on gun control. McConaughey and wife Camilla Alves spent most of the past week with the families of those who were killed during the shooting at Robb Elementary School in his hometown of Uvalde Texas. During the briefing, he told stories of those who died, and said “responsible gun owners are fed up with the second amendment being abused and hijacked by some deranged individuals.” He also voiced his opinion on the need to invest in mental health care, changes to background checks, and raising the minimum age to purchase an AR-15 rifle to twenty one. McConaughey will be in Washington D.C. for several days meeting with lawmakers.
