UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson Survives Vote of Confidence

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson survived a vote of confidence by members of his own party yesterday but the final count of lawmakers who voted against him was much higher than expected… The tally was 211 to 148 with Johnson saying that it was a ‘very good result for politics and the country’, adding ‘I think it’s a convincing result, a decisive result and what it means is that as a government we can move on and focus on the stuff that really matters to people.’ The vote of confidence stemmed from parties Johnson threw and attended during the lockdown and his response to a cost-of-living crisis.
