NRA’s Annual Meeting Underway in Houston, Texas

The National Rifle Association is set to begin it’s 2022 annual meeting in Houston today. Several lawmakers are expected to attend while others have withdrawn, citing the recent shooting in Uvalde. Several musicians have also pulled out from performances citing the same reason. The NRA’s annual meetings were canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the Coronavirus. Lawmakers in attendance include former President Trump, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson among others. NRA members were also expected to hear from Governor Greg Abbott but he canceled his appearance to attend a news conference in Uvalde, instead sending a ‘prerecorded video.’
