DHEC Investigating Possible Monkeypox Exposures in South Carolina

DHEC announced yesterday that it was investigating possible Monkeypox exposures in South Carolina. Several people were contacts on a flight with a person who was confirmed to have Monkeypox in the United Kingdom. Those people will be monitored until the end of the day today following the CDC guidance released this week. DHEC said none of the contacts have symptoms and there have been no confirmed cases in South Carolina. It is unclear where the flight took place and DHEC didn’t specify where in the state the contacts were located.
