Biden Says Monkeypox is ‘Less Concerning’ Than the Covid-19 Pandemic

Cases of Monkeypox continue to pop up throughout the United States. This morning President Biden said he doesn’t believe an outbreak of the virus is as risky as the Covid-19 pandemic but yesterday, he said that everyone should be concerned about the spread of the Monkeypox. The CDC is currently tracking a number of confirmed infections and other possible causes here in the states and Friday, the agency said it was monitoring six people for possible cases after they sat near an infected traveler who had symptoms while on a flight from Nigeria to the U.S. earlier this month. The CDC is also investigating a case of a man from Massachusetts who traveled to Canada recently and a patient in New York City who tested positive for Orthopoxvirus the family of viruses to which Monkeypox belongs.
