US Soccer Agrees to Equal Pay Deal

The United States Soccer Federation, the U.S. Women’s National Team Players Association and the United States National Soccer Team Players Association agreed to a deal for equal pay. US Soccer will share a portion of it’s broadcast, partner and sponsorship revenue with a 50/50 split of that share divided equally between the women’s and men’s teams. Also under the agreement, US Soccer will become the ‘first Federation in the world to equalize FIFA World Cup prize money’ awarded to the teams for participating in the cup. The agreement also encompasses other areas such as child care, parental leave, short-term disability, mental health impairment, travel and equal quality of venues and field playing surfaces. The new collective bargaining agreement will run through 2028.
