U.S. Reaches Another Grim Milestone in Covid-19 Pandemic

The United States has reached another grim milestone when it comes to the Coronavirus pandemic. More than one million people have died from the virus in the U.S. since the pandemic started according to data released yesterday from Johns Hopkins University. The CDC estimates that the number of Covid-19 deaths in the U.S. was about 32% higher than reported between February 2020 and September 2021 and data from the CDC also shows the United States surpassed the death milestone during the week of May 14th. About three quarters of all Covid-19 deaths have been among seniors including more than a quarter among people 85 and older. Last week President Biden issued a proclamation marking a million deaths and ordered flags at half-staff.
