President Biden, First Lady Jill Visit Buffalo, New York
President Biden and First Lady Jill are in Buffalo, New York today following the shooting that happened there over the weekend. The Biden’s already visited the memorial site today and are meeting with family members of the victims, law enforcement, first responders and community leaders in the area during their trip. They ‘paid respects to the lives lost’ during the shooting at the memorial site with the First Lady placing a bouquet of flowers followed by a moment of silence. President Biden will also deliver remarks later today during which he is expected to condemn the shooting as an ‘act or terrorism motivated by a hateful and perverse ideology that tears at the soul of our nation.’ On Saturday, ten people died and three others were injured when 18 year old Payton Gendron, a self-described ‘White supremacist’ opened fire at the Tops super market. Gendron is being charged with first-degree murder and was ordered to be held without bond after pleading not guilty. He is due back in court on Thursday.
