Three Injured, 10 Killed During Shooting in Buffalo, New York
3 people were injured and 10 people were killed during a shooting in New York on Saturday afternoon. The gunman 18 year old Payton Gendron who is a self-described ‘White supremacist’ opened fire in a Tops Friendly Market grocery store in Buffalo. Gendron fired several shots in the parking lot of the store then moved inside the building. Several of the victims in the shooting were community members or had personal connections with those who actively serviced the local community including a local food pantry chef and the mother of the city’s former fire chief. All but one victim was over the age of 50 and 11 of the victims were African American, two were White according to police. The attack is believed to be racially motivated. Gendron was charged with first-degree murder and pleaded not guilty. He was ordered to be held without bail and is due back in court on Thursday.
