One Killed, Two Injured in Shooting Near Murrells Inlet

One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting this morning near Murrells Inlet. The Georgetown County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 76 year old Jim Thomas, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The two injured people are being treated at an area hospital. As of today one person has been detained in connection to the shooting, but their identity has yet to be revealed. The incident took place at a residence near the traffic circle at Wachesaw Road and Old Kings Highway.
