Horry County Schools Announces Additional Elementary Schools
Horry County Schools is adding four new elementary schools to it’s district in the upcoming years. During their meeting yesterday, the district announced it purchased two properties in the Carolina Forest area and is eyeing two others. The new schools will help with the district’s crowding problems due to the growing population. 36 additional modular classrooms will also be added, those could cost between $4.5 and $6.6 million and would include two restrooms.
- 8 classrooms would be built at Myrtle Beach High School,
- 8 classrooms at Carolina Forest High School,
- 4 classrooms at Carolina Forest Elementary,
- 8 classrooms and 1 restroom at River Oaks Elementary
- 8 classrooms and 1 restroom at Waccamaw Elementary.
A quote for the construction of those classrooms will be presented to the board during next month’s meeting!
