Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team Training Held at Myrtle Beach International Airport

First responders across the Grand Strand are preparing for hurricane season which begins on June 1st. The Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team trained at the Myrtle Beach International Airport yesterday. “HART” is a partnership between fire marshals, paramedics, EMT’s and members of the National Guard as well as civilians that go through extensive training for the situations they could encounter during hurricane season. They also respond to other states like Texas and Louisiana. HART members are specially trained in swift water rescue and the pilots are trained to understand the flow of water to safely help individuals in need, they are all medically trained and rescuers are all firefighters.
