Johnny Depp Testifies in Trial Against Ex-wife Amber Heard

Johnny Depp took the stand in his trial against ex-wife Amber Heard in Fairfax Virginia yesterday. He testified for three-hours and spoke in detail about Heard’s allegations of domestic abuse, his history with substance abuse and their relationship. Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she wrote about her experience with domestic violence. Depp was not referred to by name in her piece but in the years since it’s publishing, Heard had alleged Depp bruised her face after throwing a phone at her in their LA home. Depp denied that allegation and was not charged with any crime. During his testimony he acknowledged he and Heard had arguments during their relationship but said “never did I myself reach the point of striking Ms. Heard in any way nor have I ever struck any woman in my life.” He is already continuing his testimony today.
