Pecan trees grow in warm climates, such as Georgia, Arizona and Texas with more than 600,000 trees growing in Albany, Georgia, which is the pecan capital of America. Also, most of the pecans eaten in the world are grown in the states.
While Albany, Georgia has the most trees, the world’s largest pecan nursery is located in Lumberton, Mississippi. the wood from the trees is often used in making furniture, hardwood flooring, as well as flavoring fuel for smoking meats.
