Some drink coffee for energy but in large amounts, it could be draining it.  Drinking coffee may compromise some of the nutrients you are getting from your meals.  For example it could interfere with the uptake of minerals zinc, magnesium and calcium.  It’s not a big deal if you have one cup a day, but if you are one of those who enjoy a cup of java after every meal, you may be doing yourself a disservice.  To play it safe, some nutritionists suggest to wait an hour before and after a meal.
