Horry County Schools Adding Additional Modular Classrooms for Next Year
Yesterday during their meeting, the Horry County School Board passed a motion to purchase additional modular classrooms for next year. The district already has 88 units in place but an additional 36 modular classrooms worth $6.6 million will be added. The district’s communications director, Lisa Bourcier says the district is also looking at building additional schools including two new elementary schools that are currently needed in the Carolina Forest area due to overcrowding. The new additions will be built bigger than needed to avoid being outgrown as the population increases.
