President Biden, Chinese President Xi Jinping Meet Virtually Today

President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping talked today for the first time in months. The call lasted nearly two hours, according to the White House. At the start of the call , Xi told President Biden that “conflict and confrontation is not in anyone’s interest. Peace and security are the most cherished treasures of the international community”, that’s according to Chinese state media. It is not known yet exactly what the two talked about, but according to the White House the call’s agenda had the leaders discussing “managing the competition between our two countries as well as Russia’s war against Ukraine and other issues of mutual concern.” The two Presidents last conversation took place in November during a three and a half hour virtual summit.
