Marion Man Arrested in Connection to Shooting Near Rosewood Drive

A Marion County man was arrested in connection to a fight which led to shots being fired earlier this week. 19 year old Shymire Reaves was arrested for 2 counts of unlawful carrying of a handgun, failure to stop on command of an officer, resisting arrest, pointing and presenting firearms at a person, attempted murder and discharging a firearm within the city limits. Reaves is accused of an incident that occurred on Rosewood Drive on Monday where he and another person got into a physical fight before retrieving a firearm from his waist area, pointing it at the victim and discharging it. Reaves fled the scene of the incident before authorities arrived, officers caught up to him but he resisted arrest. Reaves is being held at the Marion County Detention Center without bond.
