Woman Charged in Connection to Scotland County Shooting

A woman has been charged in connection to a shooting yesterday morning that left a Laurel Hill man in critical condition. 61 year old Wendy Benton was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. She was given a $2.5 million bond and taken to the Scotland County Jail. Deputies were called to a home on Crawford Lake Road yesterday and found a man unresponsive in a recliner with a gunshot wound to his head. No other information is currently available.
