Pfizer CEO Says 4th Vaccine Needed for Other Covid-19 Variants

According to Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, people will need a fourth dose of the company’s Covid-19 vaccine to fend off another wave of the virus. During a recent interview, Bourla said “many variants are coming, and Omicron was the first one that was able to evade — in a skillful way — the immune protection that we’re giving.” Currently anyone 12 and older who got a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine at least five months ago can get a third dose and anyone ages 18 and older who got two doses of the Moderna vaccine should get a booster shot six months after the second according to the CDC. Anyone who got the single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine should get a booster two months after the initial shot. Some people with moderately or severely immuno-compromised immune systems who have had a third dose can already get a fourth. Currently, only 2% of the U.S. population, about 7 million people, live in a county with “high” Covid-19 community levels. And in more Covid-19 news, former President Barack Obama announced he has Covid and is experiencing mild symptoms.
