Ukrainian President Zelenskyy Pleads for No-Fly Zone, U.S. President Issues New Sanctions Against Russia
The war in the Ukraine continues…. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy continues to plead with NATO and lawmakers in the United States to enact a no-fly zone as Russian forces continue to take to the skies for attacks on cities in the country. According to the UN, more than 2 million refugees have fled the country. as of this morning, Germany has registered over 64,000 refugees from the Ukraine and almost 5,000 have arrived in France.
Earlier today, President Biden announced a ban on Russian oil, natural gas and coal imports. The U.S. made the move without it’s European allies due to a disagreement among European nations. U.S. officials decided to make the move due to the extreme political pressure here in the states. In his announcement, President Biden said that we are targeting the main artery of Russia’s economy and the American people will deal another powerful blow to Putin’s war machine.
