Patti Hilton of the Barefoot Bistro brings some of her restaurant specials to the set of Carolina A.M. Fried chicken, lima beans, fresh fried squash, cornbread, scalloped tomatoes, ad don’t forget dessert. our Cream Pound Cake anyone?  The Barefoot Bistro is located at 3914 Highway 17 South in Myrtle Beach.   Click here for the full menu.

Sour Cream Pound Cake
1/2 lb. Butter
1 TBSP Crisco
3 cups Sugar
6 Eggs
3 cups plain, sifted Flour
8 oz. Sour Cream
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Almond or Vanilla extract
Mix Butter and Crisco together in mixer. Add Sugar one cup at a time and mix. Add Eggs one at a time and mix. Mix Baking Soda into Sour Cream and add to batter. Add Flour. Last add extract. Cook in greased tube pan 325 degrees 1 1/2 hours.
Scalloped Tomatoes
1 (10 oz) can Tomato Puree
¼ cup boiling water
3 TBSP Brown Sugar
½ tsp Salt
2 cups White Bread Cubes
¼ cup melted Butter
Combine Puree and water in a pan. Add Sugar
and Salt; Boil 5 minutes. Place Bread in a 1 quart casserole. Pour Butter over Bread. Add tomato mixture. Cover and Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
