Whe weather is going to be great this weekend so why not get out and enjoy some local events.

The Myrtle Beach Marathon kicks off early tomorrow morning and there are still slots open for the races. It begins tomorrow morning at the intersection of Grissom Parkway and Monticello Drive and ends at the Pelicans ball park. If you don’t feel like getting up early, the event is also hosting a virtual 10k as well. If you’re not much of a runner…be sure to avoid the area as there will be traffic congestion.

Blue Star Mothers of Coastal Carolina is hosting their Songs and Letters of World War II event. The traveling literacy tribute pays homage to those who fought in the conflict. The cost is $15 and all proceeds go to Wreaths Across America. That’s being held on Sunday at 4:00pm in Myrtle Beach at the Robert Reed Recreation Center.

Take the kids out to Brookgreen Gardens’ Read Across America celebration. Saturday from 10:00am until 3:00pm, they’ll offer make and take crafts, games and more for families.
