Troops Infiltrate Kharkiv, Talks Happen Between Russia and Ukraine

The war in the Ukraine continues… Talks between Russia and Ukrainian officials are underway, marking the first public contact between the two sides since the war began. Ukrainian officials demanded an ‘immediate ceasefire and withdrawal of Russian troops’ according to a statement from President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office. The United Nations is also holding an emergency meeting, it’s first since 1982. U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres said the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has estimated a half a million Ukrainians have fled the country and there are reports of damage to residential buildings and critical civilian infrastructure. Russia has also made it’s way into Ukraine’s second-largest city of Kharkiv.
