War in Ukraine: Russia Takes Over Chernobyl, Troops Near Capital of Kyiv

The war between Russia and the Ukraine continues.. Yesterday, Russian forces seized control of the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant and are holding staff members hostage. Troops overran the plant after a ‘fierce battle.’ Today, Ukraine citizens have been advised to stay where they are and make Molotov cocktails in order to ‘neutralize the occupier’ as Russian troops try to get to the capital of the country in Kyiv. The U.S. embassy in Kyiv has called on U.S. citizens in Ukraine to ‘depart immediately if it’s safe to do so’ and said those who remain ‘should exercise increased caution due to the potential for active combat, crime and civil unrest.’ President Zelensky has also once again called for direct talks with Russian President Putin.
