Bill Banning Carolina Squat Passed in SC Senate, Heads to House

The Carolina Squat could soon be banned in South Carolina. The law banning the famous vehicle modification had it’s third reading in the state Senate today. Yesterday, Senators voted 33 to 1 for the bill’s second reading and after today’s reading, the law will go to the South Carolina House of Representatives for approval. Once the bill is passed at that level, it will go into effect 180 days after being approved by the governor. For the first 180 days, authorities will hand out warnings for the violation and afterwards it will be a misdemeanor and result in a fine of between $25 and $50. North Carolina passed a similar bill last year which went into effect in December.
