10 Vehicles Burned During Auto Shop Fire in Darlington County

A large fire broke out yesterday at an auto shop located in Lydia. Crews were called to ‘Danny’s Auto Repair’ on Indian Branch Road off of West Lydia Highway in Darlington County around 2:15 pm. When they arrived, they found about 10 vehicles burning and the fire was threatening a nearby building. Fortunately, crews were able to keep it away from that structure. Most of the automobiles were being used for parts. The fire is believed to have started in a burn barrel being used to destroy garbage. No injuries were reported.
