Pedestrian Struck by Tractor-Trailer on Highway 501

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened early this morning. Horry County Fire Rescue Crews were called to the area of U.S. 501 and River Oaks Drive near Waccamaw Boulevard around 2:30 am for a fatal crash between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian. The tractor-trailer was headed southbound and struck the pedestrian in the roadway, and they died as a result of their injuries. More information is expected later today.
