Former President Donald Trump, Children to Testify in Civil Investigation of Trump Org
Former President Trump and his children Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka must sit for depositions in the New York Attorney General’s civil investigation of their business practices. New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron also rejected attempts to freeze the work of Attorney General Letitia James who is investigating whether or not Trump mislead lenders, insurers or others in his family business’ financial statements. During his ruling, Judge Engoron expressed skepticism toward the Trumps’ arguments that sitting for testimony in the civil investigation would undermine their constitutional rights. James issued subpoenas against the Trumps in December in connection with an ongoing investigation against the Trump Organization. In a statement on Twitter yesterday, James said the Trumps will need to testify before her office within 21 days and added ‘no one is above the law.’
