Google Eyeing Myrtle Beach as Possible Location for Subsea Cable Project

Google could be coming to Myrtle Beach… The company is considering the Grand Strand as a potential location for a subsea cable project that would boost internet connectivity and the local tech industry. The cable would start here, near Myrtle Beach State Park and end off the coast of Argentina. The development of the line would likely bring numerous jobs to Horry County and a minimum economic impact of about $100 million. Two other areas along the coast are also contenders.
