Over 900 Horry County Residents Able to Apply for Their High School Diplomas
More than 900 people in Horry County will be able to apply for their long-denied diplomas thanks to a revision to a law. Through Act 155, the South Carolina General Assembly approved the removal of the exit exam as a requirement for graduating beginning with the class of 2015. It now applies to the graduating class of 1990 and on. According to the act, students who met all course requirements but didn’t receive a diploma because they didn’t pass either the SC high school assessment program or basic skills assessment program may now petition to receive their diploma.
