It’s a New Lunar Year!
Tuesday marks the first day of the Year of the Tiger.
Tuesday is the first day of the Lunar New Year. This year is the ‘Year of the Tiger’ and although in past years the Lunar New Year celebration was widely celebrated in many cities, the pandemic has once again forced them to pair down or cancel their celebration all together. Lunar festivities can often last up to 15 days beginning on the 26th day of the last lunar month. The 12-year Chinese zodiac calendar cycle is represented by 12 different animals, a complex cycle made up of 10 heavenly stems and 12 earthly branches. Each year a heavenly stem is paired with an earthly branch.
