Omicron Variant Makes Up Almost All Of New Coronavirus Cases in the U.S.
The latest statistics pertaining to the Omicron variant have been published by the CDC. Omicron currently makes up 99.9% of new Coronavirus cases in the U.S., which is slightly higher than last week, while Delta makes up the rest. New cases of the Coronavirus among children in the U.S. topped 1 million last week for the first time since the American Academy of Pediatrics began tracking cases. The 1.15 million new cases is nearly five times greater than the peak reported last winter and according to the group, children account for 25.5% of total reported weekly cases. Since the beginning of September, there have been around 5.6 million new cases among children reported.
