Federal Judge Rules Against Dismissing Prince Andrew Lawsuit

Yesterday, a federal judge ruled that a lawsuit brought against Prince Andrew can move forward. In his ruling, Judge Lewis Kaplan said Virginia Giuffre’s complaint is neither ‘unintelligible’ nor ‘vague’ nor ‘ambiguous.’ Giuffre alleged that she was trafficked by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and forced to perform sex acts with Price Andrew, who denies the claims. Guiffre brought her case under the Child Victims Act which expanded the statute of limitations in child sex abuse cases to give survivors more opportunities to seek justice. She is seeking damages ‘in an amount to be determined at trial’, as well as attorney’s fees and other further relief ‘as the court may deem just and proper.’
