Yesterday, President Biden talked with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. The President told Zelensky that if Russia further invades his country, the U.S. and it’s allies would ‘respond decisively.’ The leaders spoke just days after Biden’s call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to a tweet from Zelensky, the call underscored ‘the special nature of our relations’ and ‘joint actions of Ukraine, United States and partners in keeping peace in Europe, preventing further escalation and reforms.’ As many as 100,000 Russian troops are positioned on Ukraine’s border despite warnings from government officials including Biden. U.S. intelligence has estimated that Russia could begin a military offensive in Ukraine in the next few months.
