Legendary NFL Announcer, Coach John Madden Dies At Age 85

Some sad news for sports fans…. legendary announcer John Madden has passed away at the age of 85. According to the NFL, Madden died unexpectedly yesterday. His cause of death was not immediately revealed. Madden was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders for 10 seasons and won Super Bowl 11 in 1976, he retired from coaching in 1979 and began working as an announcer that same year. Madden was inducted into the pro football hall of fame in 2006. He covered 11 Super Bowls and won 16 Sports Emmy Awards as well as a lifetime achievement award in 2010. NFL commissioner Roger Godell and several of his colleagues and friends issued statements in his honor. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
