Take it Down a Notch for Better Sleep!

Lower the temperature and do these 3 things for better health!

In today’s tips we’ve got a few hacks to help you feel and sleep better, fight the germs and get more out of your nutrition.

Get better sleep by taking it down a notch.  Lowering the temperature two to three degrees after dinner and two to three more at bedtime, with a target of around 65 degrees.  That’s advice from the author of “The Sleep Solution.”   This will help us sleep deeper and less likely to be awakened throughout the night.

Dry your hands.  You know to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds but we may be overlooking an important step.  A professor of medicine at UCLA says taking another 20 seconds to properly dry our hands is just as important. Damp hands are more susceptible to germs!

Rinse your beans.  That liquid your canned beans and veggies are stored in is mostly salt and starch. Strain and rinse for 10 seconds to remove 40% of the sodium.  This tip is from the author of “The Bloated Belly Whisperer,” who also reminds us to not forget to include these in your everyday diet as it is the single common dietary factor among people who live the longest, most disease-free lives!

Clock Mindfulness.  Your final tip today brings back a bit of old school for your health.  Find one of those clocks with a second hand and use it in this brain exercise. Focus all your attention on the hand moving around for one minute.  The more you practice the more you will build your attention muscle.  Doing this can benefit both your physical and emotional health.
