Man Sentenced to 22 Years Behind Bars in Connection to Deadly Crash in 2019

A man has been sentenced to 22 years behind bars in connection to a DUI crash that killed a woman from Myrtle Beach in 2019. Yesterday 15th circuit solicitor Jimmy Richardson sentenced Claybon Atwater to the lengthy jail time on charges of felony DUI resulting in death and felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury. Donna Schnell was killed during the crash which happened on Highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach, her husband was sent to the hospital with multiple broken bones and underwent emergency surgery.
