Carli Lloyd has retired from the United States Women’s National Soccer Team. Lloyd played on the team for the past 15 years and ended her final match yesterday with a 6-0 win over South Korea. She was pulled from the field in the 66th minute of the match and the crowd gave her a standing ovation as her number 10 was shown for a substitution. Lloyd took off her cleats, hugged her teammates and removed her jersey showing another one, with the last name Hollins on the back, which is her married last name. Lloyd was also honored by the U.S. Women’s National Team before the game and was presented with a jersey showing the number of caps in her career.
