Ways to Give Your Home and All-Natural Fall Scent
Get into the spirit and give these a try!
You don’t have to turn to store bought air fresheners…we’ve got a few DIY ways to make your home smell like fall all natural! If you love that smell of cider, simmer pots are a great all-natural fall scent solution. Take it one step further and make your own spices for mulled wine. Your kitchen will smell amazing and you’ll get a nice cozy drink out of it. The base is star anise, allspice berries and cloves. The right blend depends on your preferences. Mix up the ingredients, store in an airtight container and it’s ready whenever the mulled cider craving hits.
Herbs bring cozy smells all year long especially this time of year. Craft some fresh rosemary into a mini wreath and hang one wherever you want the scent. This time of year you can find the rosemary trees at garden stores. Snip a long piece and tie it into a wreath or simply tie a ribbon on one end and hang. Put them on the doors of each room.
Try making a room spray. Combine your favorite fall smells into a spray bottle with some alcohol or witch hazel and have a room spray to use all winter long. Take about 3 tablespoons of your preference of alcohol, and 10 drops each of your favorite essential oils. Juniper, clary sage, cinnamon all go nicely. Combine in a spray bottle and fill the top with water. Shake and spritz around the house
Another great solution for a flame-less fall scent is to clean like it’s fall. Many bathroom cleaning essentials can smell like summer. Why not make them smell like fall? Create a all-natural scouring powder that will leave your bathroom and kitchen sinks smelling like an apple pie! Combine ground dried herbs, spices or essential oils with baking soda. You can make large batches of this antibacterial and sanitizing powder. It’s perfect for getting the grime without damaging the surface. Sprinkle it in your sink or toilet, scrub and rinse.
