Woman Charged After a Loaded Gun Was Found in Robeson County Kindergartener’s Backpack

An update on the loaded gun found in a Robeson County kindergartener’s backpack…. The identity of the woman who was charged in connection to the incident has been released. Sandy Miller was identified by Lumberton Police Department Captain Terry Parker. She has been charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds. The loaded gun was found by a teacher in a student’s bag at the Tanglewood Elementary School during snack time on Monday morning, no other staff nor student ever saw the gun or was alerted to it. The child had gone to school without their backpack and the mom called Miller to bring the bag to school. Miller allegedly picked up the wrong bag, which had the gun inside of it.
