Why You Should Have Deep Conversations with Strangers

Try meeting and having conversations with someone new…it might just benefit your health. It can make you feel happy and lead to greater feelings of connectedness. In an experiment, 1,8000 people were asked to discuss either deep or shallow topics with someone they had never met before. Afterwards, they rated how awkward the conversations actually were, how connected they felt, and how much they enjoyed themselves. Those who had a more meaning chat say they enjoyed their time and felt a stronger connection to their experimental partner.
