Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for 2018 Murder

A Darlington man has been sentenced to life in prison in connection to the murder of his teen girlfriend in October of 2018. 28 year old Deangelo Thomas of Darlington was sentenced yesterday morning to life in prison after a jury spent less than 45 minutes in deliberation, coming back with the guilty verdict. In October of 2018, 19 year old Vernita White was shot and killed at a home on Middleton Avenue in the Woodmont subdivision in Florence.
