1 Killed, Several Injured in Shooting in Tennessee

At least one person is dead and 14 others were injured during a shooting at a Kroger supermarket near Memphis, Tennessee. According to Police Chief Dale Lane the shooter was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Lane said 13 victims were taken to hospitals and one person suffered an anxiety attack and went on their own. According to Angie Golding a spokesperson at  the Regional One Health Medical Center, they received 9 patients, four of which were in critical condition when they arrived and five were in non-critical condition. Lane said there
was no incident that led up to the shooting but investigators are trying to find a motive.

Around 1:30 pm, Collierville Communications Center received a 911 call about an active shooter at the Kroger in Memphis. Lane said a patrol car was near the store when the call came in and when officers arrived they found victims who had been shot. A SWAT team, patrol officers and other command staff members went aisle by aisle bringing out employees who had been hiding and helping injured victims. The shooter’s vehicle was in the parking lot and was searched. The FBI also deployed an evidence response team to support Collierville Police and is providing specialists to provide assistance to victims.
